Jiaqing Bi

Postdoc, Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, bi (at) mpia.de

Welcome! I’m Jiaqing Bi (ęÆ•å˜‰ę“Ž), a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany.

I received my Ph.D. in 2023 from the University of Victoria, Canada, followed by a postdoc position at ASIAA in Taipei. You can find my CV here.

My research focuses on planet formation in protoplanetary disks, with a particular emphasis on dust dynamics and dust grain evolution. To investigate these processes, I employ three-dimensional, multifluid hydrodynamic simulations of disks and GPU-parallelized Monte Carlo models to trace dust growth and movement. In addition, I analyze submillimeter interferometric data from ALMA to connect theoretical models with observations. For more details on my research activities, please refer to my publications.
